Ex-Dividend Date Calculator

Estimate the ex-dividend date from a dividend record date using common conventions (US T+1 regular-way or legacy T+2-style). You’ll also see an estimated last day to buy (cum-dividend) to receive the dividend.

The record date is the date the company checks its shareholder records for dividend eligibility.
Under US T+1 regular-way processing, ex-date is typically set on the record date (same business day). Special cases can differ.

FAQ

What is the ex-dividend date?

It’s the first day a stock trades without the right to receive the most recently announced dividend. If you buy on or after the ex-date, you typically do not receive that dividend.

Why can ex-date equal record date?

Under US T+1 regular-way processing, ex-date is commonly set on the record date (same business day) for standard dividends. Special cases can differ.

Does this tool account for holidays and special cases?

No. This uses weekend-only business day logic and doesn’t model market holidays or special “due bill” cases. Treat results as an estimate and verify with official sources.

Example
