Oil Price per Barrel to Total Cost Calculator
Calculate total oil cost from price per barrel and quantity (barrels). Optionally convert to gallons and estimate cost per gallon.
Convert an oil price per barrel into a total cost for a given number of barrels. You can also estimate cost per gallon using a conversion factor.
Example: 78.50 means $78.50 per barrel.
Enter how many barrels you want to price.
Standard crude oil conversion is 42 US gallons per barrel. Change only if needed.
Total cost: $942.00
12 barrels × $78.50 = $942.00
Total gallons (estimate): 504.00 gal
Estimated cost per gallon: $1.8690/gal
Cost per gallon uses 42.0 gal/barrel. This is an estimate, not a retail fuel price.
How to use this oil price per barrel to total cost calculator
- Enter the oil price per barrel.
- Enter how many barrels you want to price.
- Optionally set a barrels-to-gallons conversion factor (default 42 gallons per barrel).
- Review total cost and cost per gallon.
Example
If oil is $78.50 per barrel and you price 12 barrels (42 gal per barrel):
- Total cost = 78.50 × 12 = $942.00
- Total gallons = 12 × 42 = 504 gal
- Cost per gallon = 942.00 ÷ 504 ≈ $1.87/gal
